Raw Vegan Creamy Rosemary (no)Honey Mustard Dressing Recipe - Dairy and Cruelty Free

Nov 23, 2022

Animal fat laden dressings were once a favorite past time of mine, before chronic illness symptoms set in (and during, of course) and before turning to a conscious life of ethical veganism, with a raw vegan / high fruit diet focus for healing.

A thick, creamy honey mustard was always one of my favorite dressings/sauces to indulge in. This recipe embodies the spirit of all that but without the extremely harmful animal products like dairy, eggs, etc. - plus the little burst of added woody, evergreen essence from the rosemary.

Celebrate this delicious decadence and share it with friends and family. Proceed with love - but also with caution for an optimal diet. Albeit absolutely delicious, this is a high-fat dressing and should be used sparingly and in moderation if you’re trying to feel your absolute best!

• Water above blade level (about a cup)
• 1 cup cashews (soaked)
• 2 tablespoons of cashew butter
• Blend on high until desired creaminess

Then add:

• 2 tablespoons of organic yellow mustard
• 6 Halawi dates (or 3-4 big gooey Medjiool dates)
• Dash of mustard seed powder
• 2-3 cloves of fresh garlic (or teaspoon of garlic salt)
• Teaspoon of onion powder
• Teaspoon of nutritional yeast
• Blend on high/medium for a bit

*Add more water if needed (whatever consistency you fancy!)

Then add:

• Fresh rosemary, blend on low

You can also use a splash of maple syrup instead of the dates or accompanying them (just go ahead and halve the date load). But I really like the thick creaminess that the dates provide.
